Dearest Gentle Readers,
Oh my! This week has been a whirlwind of news, speculation, and social media commentary. For those of you who depend on this author to deliver the news, in a nutshell, here is what happened this week.
Since the posting of last week’s On Dit, The Bored called a special meeting to discuss the latest Kingly snafus. After a lengthy meeting on Monday, everyone was informed that they would be hearing from the King.
What came out later that evening was the most obvious non-apologetic apology letter ever written. (Wouldn’t it be interesting to have read the first draft?) Numerous citizens within the Kingdom have made astute commentary as to the contents of said letter, and so as not to make this too long, this topic must be relegated to a separate article. (Future potential articles will be a recurring theme.) Needless to say, many people were disappointed that yet again, the King seems to be getting away with a mere slap on the wrist for behavior that would have very severe consequences should it come from any other palace servant. One of the most disturbing parts of this entire debacle was the number of people who believed rumors that it had actually been posted by a teacher – when it was not. One cannot state with certainty where those rumors stemmed from, but it has now been proven that no teachers had access to post to the Kingdom’s FB page.
Before anyone could digest everything that occurred on Monday, on Tuesday afternoon, the Athens County Independent posted an article that should have been devastating to the King. And in many ways it was. Numerous parents and community members have started to do their own research about the King’s past and a couple of striking other items have been identified.
First, the King was involved in a lawsuit against him and others pertaining to actions that he made as the prince-i-pal in another Kingdom. Ultimately this lawsuit was dropped without prejudice and here is a link to his appeal decision that he lost.
Secondly, information came to light that our King was put on paid administrative leave three months prior to resigning another position as prince-i-pal in yet another Kingdom. Although the article states that there was no investigation, it’s most likely because they had already completed it. After all, one does not just put someone on a leave of absence and ban them from the campus for no reason. Kingdoms are notorious for trying to suppress any negative information about themselves – usually at all costs. I will need to elucidate on this in a future article as well.
BREAKING NEWS! The Athens County Independent has now posted an article about the King’s checkered history.
The importance of this information coming to light is because it shows a distinct pattern of unprofessionalism and an inability to work with people in the Kingdoms in which he was employed.
The articles from the Athens County Independent have ignited a firestorm of social media energy and it is with gratitude that more people are understanding the man who is running the Kingdom. Of course, there are two sides, and a small, yet vocal minority, have taken to their keyboards in order to protect the King from evil bullies. (Irony: the King is clearly a bully as is evidenced by his social media, but this author digresses.) The formation of Spinster’s Advocates, now to be referred to as the SA, is not surprising. There will always be those bootlickers who kowtow to their overlords, despite the evidence of ill-bred behavior. Indeed, this author has had to block a couple of accounts from her socials, as they were posting potentially libelous statements. Yes, I’ve deleted the posts and yes, those trolls should be thankful that they were deleted. (It has since come to light that both of these accounts are the same person – so there is that.)
Another important item that must be addressed (again) is that this author is not a teacher. She may strive to be an educator of sorts, by bringing information to the masses that was obscured, but alas, it is sad that the SA have become very anti-teacher as well, and responses to this author have been illuminating to say the least.
A final word to close out this eventful week…. UNCONFIRMED RUMORS are that the Queen is personally calling people to drum up support for the King at the next Bored meeting. Perhaps citizens should exercise their rights and let the Queen know their displeasure. Otherwise, the next Bored meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 18th at 6pm – and here is where it gets interesting. This author believes that it is supposed to be at Amesville Elementary, but the article in the Independent said MS/HS. If one goes to the Kingdom’s website, there are NO regular board meetings on the Kingdom’s calendar NOR does a search of the website return any information. This author had to go into the agenda for The Bored’s organizational meeting to find that information – which is NOT easily accessible nor would many citizens know how to find it. This author tries not to feel that this obfuscation is deliberate, but sometimes when the Bored anticipates a large turn out, they shift the meeting site at the last minute, but by law are required to announce it ahead of time.
Given all of this, this author thinks that there are a lot of people who may feel opposed to our current leadership, and so is hopeful that there is a turn out in response. Wherever The Bored decides to meet, they may want to think about setting up in the gymnasium or auditorium.
All things considered, it has been said that to be optimistic is to assume things will work out. To be hopeful is to realize things can work out if you work at them. Hope requires responsibility and agency; optimism relieves us of both. This author is hopeful that the Kingdom can right the ship and find good leadership once we have rid ourselves of this anchor.
Sincerely,
Lady Whistleblower
