Dearest Gentle Reader,
It has been said that, “The goal of education is the advancement of knowledge and the dissemination of truth.” And so let this author provide to you some small morsels of knowledge with a fair serving of truth…
Royal News
The latest information to storm social media this week was that the King was non-renewed from his last job in Cincinnati. You know, a non-renewal like what the king and “bored” did to Shamblin – so, he was basically fired.
This came from a letter that was acquired through a public records request to his last school district. He was given the option to resign, which is generally what happens in education, this author is told. When faced with the “be non-renewed or resign” options, most people take the resignation route; that way it doesn’t LOOK like they’ve been fired.
School “Bored” Report
As this author predicted, the turnout for the monthly May “bored” meeting was well attended and had to be moved to the MS/HS auditorium to accommodate the crowd.
Also, with a last minute switch up, the “bored” moved their executive session to the end of the meeting instead of holding it in the beginning as per the pre-published agenda.
This author applauds both of these changes – as well as the diverse number of people who spoke up at the meeting. Of particular interest were the fine ladies (with a gentlemanly assist) who read a very thorough accounting of the King’s checkered history and concerns surrounding Shamblin’s treatment. Others spoke in support of Shamblin. Another person expressed their disappointment in some recent “bored” decisions. And last, but not least, a plea to support the high school secretary. All of these speakers were met with audience applause. It is gratifying to see our citizens engaged in the public process.
This month also marked the return of “The King’s Guard” – because once again, our royalty seems to take their own security very seriously – and sees the public as a threat. It is sad in the extreme that our leadership believes that they need to call in law enforcement, yet again, to supposedly maintain some sort of order. Or is having law enforcement there purely performative, to create the illusion that the Queen and King are some sort of victims? This author agrees with the latter, as they have been the victims of their own stupidity.
Also of note, apparently the King was encouraged to actually look at people speaking, well, least during the public speaks part – although it eventually transformed into a full on death stare. It was obvious that he had trouble controlling his anger. How many more speakers would it have taken before he completely lost it? Perhaps the King’s Guard could have guarded the crowd from him?
Certified Staff Exodus Count
It has now been publicly confirmed that the Kingdom will be looking for four new guidance counselors for next year – as one counselor has opted to go back into the classroom, with the other three resigning. Counselors most often work hand in hand with the principals, as well as the staff and families, to provide a wide variety of services and resources. They are often the stand-in for the principal when they aren’t available or in the building. Losing all four of these at the same time will have a devastating effect on not only the culture of each building, but on its institutional memory and current functioning as well.
So for the 24-25 year we have now lost 16 certified staff members. (It would have been 18 except for the fact that the “bored” was forced to rescind two non-renewals due to administrative incompetence.) Of greatest concern, is that the latest round included staff with 10+ years of experience. And why not? You can leave FedHock, LOSE years of seniority, and still make more money in another Kingdom. The deadline for resignations ends in July, so sadly, we may not be done with staff bleed yet.
Social Media Blockade
Apparently there have been on-line complaints about citizens being blocked from the Kingdom’s social media pages. This is problematic as in some cases this is how the school communicates information to parents, and if they are no longer allowed access to the Kingdom’s sites, then they are missing information.
And who gets blocked seems to be related to people who have publicly criticized the Kingdom, the royalty, or the “bored.” However, many of these criticisms have been posted to private pages, as opposed to the Kingdom’s pages. At the very least, should there not be a policy available about the Kingdom’s social media? These policies should include how and when blocking is implemented on kingdom-related social media – and the person being blocked should be told WHY they are being blocked. There needs to be a lot more transparency surrounding these issues. The Kingdom needs to abandon this mentality of “if I don’t like it personally, I can eliminate you from the public sphere by blocking you without explanation” mindset.
When the Public is Away, the “Bored” Will Play
Many citizens noticed that the May “bored” meeting was missing an important decision item – the employment of our beloved high school secretary. Why has this situation not been settled yet?
And what’s going on with the high school principal situation? There is so much speculation surrounding this issue, that this author dare not comment! (Update: many missing Pro-Shamblin signs were removed by ODOT for being in the road’s right of way. Please make sure to observe the regulations for your road.)
Given the “bored’s” penchant for making wildly unpopular decisions during summer sessions, it is not too far to jump to a “they’re doing it again” scenario. It is well-documented that attention to the “bored” and school in general decreases during the summer, as families and staff are spread to the four winds – when people engage in vacations and other recreational activities. (Or work a second or third job to supplement their income.) So given that information, it is more vital than ever to stay vigilant and attend “bored” meetings throughout the summer months. According to the Kingdom’s calendar, this is the schedule for the summer:
- Tuesday, June 17, 6PM – Amesville Elementary
- Tuesday, July 15, 6PM – Coolville Elementary
- Tuesday, August 19, 6PM – MS/HS Library
Should any of this change, this author will certainly be publishing updates.
Reponse to Go-Fund Me
So gentle reader, this author made the joke about setting up a Go Fund Me to raise funds to hire a professional PI to help get to the bottom of a number of messes, and many of you said you were on-board!
Also suggested, raise money to help with Shamblin’s legal fees, and also, raise money to pay the King off so he will leave.
Thanks for your feedback – as it seems there are a number of fronts that could use some help. This author does want to point out that at this time, there is no Go Fund Me campaign for any of these proposed endeavors. Perhaps we won’t need such a thing?
What Does Spilt Tea Actually Reveal?
This author, as an avid connoisseur of fine teas, does not approve of waste. So when some tea is spilled, this also gives one the opportunity to examine the tea leaves and perhaps see glimpses into the future!
Know this, there is something on the horizon that will soon be revealed, and it may be that we, all unknowingly, are in the final countdown. Unfortunately, this author is unable to share any more details at this time, and is sincerely hoping that I have not raised my hopes too high.
Exciting! (And hoping that this author can spill a whole pot of tea sometime soon…)
Sincerely,
The Lady Whistleblower
